xrandr --output HDMI-1 --set underscan on --set “underscan vborder” 20 --set “underscan hborder” 35
but it didn’t work. NOTE: I tried both HDMI-1 and HDMI-2. I did observe a change to the font size, but no impact on the overscan.)
Also, just tried this …
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --transform 1,0,-40,0,1,-25,0,0,1 --panning 3840x2160+40+20
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --fb 3735x2095 --transform 1,0,-50,0,1,-25,0,0,1 --panning 3840x2160+55+40
It had no effect at all (tried both HDMI-1 and HDMI-2).
Then I noticed the Samsung was defaulting to 1920x1080 so I tried this …
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --transform 1,0,-40,0,1,-25,0,0,1 --panning 1920x1080+40+20
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --fb 1815x1015 --transform 1,0,-50,0,1,-25,0,0,1 --panning 1920x1080+55+40
No effect, other than an increased font size.
