As of November 21, 2022, this is no longer necessary and enabled by default.
To enhance the performance of MicroSD cards, you can enable MicroSD UHS mode via the libretech-wiring-tool. This will double the performance of higher performance MicroSD cards. Some cheap MicroSD cards will have problems with UHS mode.
Please note that this does affect reboot behavior. You must power cycle the device when you reboot. If you don’t power cycle, reboot will not work properly or UHS mode will not be available on reboot depending on the MicroSD card.
sudo ldto merge sd-uhs
sudo reboot
To remove UHS mode, run
sudo ldto reset
sudo reboot
