Ethernet Connection fails to recognize a cable

Problem

I have a ROC-RK3328-CC that I’ve tried multiple different distro on. And none of them recognize the ethernet cable I have plugged into the board and connected to my router.

Right now I have the Debian distro installed and it says cable unplugged and will not even let me turn on the wired network setting.

What I’ve tried

I have attempted swapping cables, and the one I’m using works for other devices to connect.

I’ve tried swapping the ends of the cable to be plugged into the other device to no avail.

OS attempts

I’ve tried this on Debian and Raspbian (from the official Libre download page)

Things I’ve noted

Whenever my device is connected to the router, the light indicating activity/device (on the router) doesn’t turn on, or if it does, is only for brief flashes, not long enough to establish a connection.
This makes me think that there is something wrong with the ethernet port on the board itself.

The lights on the ethernet port on the board have never turned on in all my attempts, I’ve seen other people complain about them, so I assume they should be turning on.

Help and advisement would be appreciated

Have you tried a different cable and/or a different device?

Yes, I have tried a known good cable and it produces the same results as any other cable.

I have since tried a brand new cable and it has solved the issue. I don’t know why cables that worked with other devices didn’t like this one, but I’ve fixed it now.
