Freezing and random errors

Hi, I recently picked up a Sweet Potato with the PoE board on Amazon, and it is unfortunately freezing up and crashing, and I’m trying to determine the cause and if I need to return it for a replacement or if there is another problem going on that I need to address.

I’m using the Armbian Trixie image linked on the Libre website. I first tried to install zwavejsui using docker. I was able to install docker, but when I try to pull the images, it never downloads them all successfully and sometimes it freezes, sometimes it gives errors about corrupt files and downloads (corrupt tar archives, unexpected EOF, download size never matches), so I at first thought it might be the SD card. So I decided to try and test the RAM to eliminate some variables. I installed memtester from the repos, and when I run it with a large amount of RAM like 1G, it locks up right away and has to be power cycled. I ran it with 50M, to make sure I wasn’t causing some swapping or crashing system processes or something, and it crashed on the second pass with an Illegal instruction error.

If I just boot the system and let it idle, it will run overnight without crashing.

Is there anything else I can test to see if my board is defective? Are there any clock or voltage settings I should adjust? Could all this be caused by a bad SD card?

Have you tried not running Armbian? Do you have the latest firmware? What’s the temperature of the board as the PoE and board needs to be actively cooled if loaded.

Dear Libre, Stability issue is raising in armbian also. Occasionally freezing while use , like kernal freeze
