How can I get my le potato to use the iso file I have on my USB drive

I have the ubuntu iso file and I have a USB drive and SD card. my windows computer cannot put the file directly on the SD card directly and the le potato will not boot the ubuntu iso file from my USB drive. when I plug the le potato in all I get is a solid red light and a solid blue light no output on the HDMI port.

please help.
