So i got a 4 inch waveshare display but the screen is rotated into vertical mode, Ive tried many different tutorials of how to change the orientation of the screen but it wont work. I need some sort of code to paste into the terminal of how to rotate the screen 90 degrees. Thanks!
What OS image are you using?
raspbian in the le potato
edit below mentioned file
sudo vi /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart
Add this
xrandr -o 3
and reboot

You can try what @shail39 wrote or Google for X11 screen rotation instructions as Raspbian’s Desktop is a themed LXDE running on X11.
