Le potat > adapter > headset

I have a headset that I’m trying to plug into an AML-s905x-cc. The headset uses type c display, so I got an adapter (male HDMI to female Type-C). It works on my desktop, but when I try to use it with the Potato, it doesn’t work. I thought it might be a display issue, so I grabbed another hdmi display, and the screen worked just fine with the potato. Is there some setting that makes the HDMI port not work unless it senses something (pull-up resistor or similar) to detect the screen side port? an and all help is welcome, thank you in advance!!

ive looked into it more and ive forced the potato to have these in the “/boot/config.txt”

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa500
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=85

as according to this:

https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/legacy_config_txt.html

Yet, it still isn’t working. Is there anything I might be missing? when its plugged in during boot, the resolution seems to switch to the headset’s base of 1280x720, but there just isn’t any display on the headset.

Switching to a Raspberry Pi 3 has made this project work. I’ve checked the pins on the pi and the potato, both look the same, so im just not sure why its not working.

Headset? like stereo audio and mic? Your post is not making much sense without additional context or pictures.
