I have been playing with various distributions over the years and never used to have a network issue… This last little bit I have been setting up a new combo and every image failed with the same issue… IPV6 prevented dhcp from working… even when disabled, I could not get dhcp to work properly… (interesting note, even though set to disabled, ipv6 was still showing as available!)
my short term workaround has been to program a static IP and then everything else has worked properly. (In my instance, this is good enough since I use my dhcp server to assign static IP’s anyways)
Given how few networks have properly working ipv6 available, I am curious as to the reasoning of making it the default. (In my area, it is not properly supported by the providers)
