Overclocking ROC-RK3328-CC

I just got my ROC-RK3328-CC up and running with Ubuntu with the desktop.

I would like to overclock my unit.

  • What are my options?
  • How much can I overclock the CPU?
  • Is it possible to overclock the GPU? If so, by how much?

Is there a how to guide or documentation on how to do this?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

  1. We don’t recommend overclocking since ARM SBCs generally do not overclock well in relation to stability. We try to extract as much stability as possible during the design stage. Anything further, the tradeoff of stability, life, and power for insignificant performance improvements is not worth it.
  2. You can usually get an extra 100MHz but at unsafe voltages with possible instability and significantly more power consumption. This means less than 5% performance improvement so it’s not really worth it.
  3. We have not tested this.

All of these are controlled by device tree which can be modified by libretech-wiring-tool. We do not recommend tampering with the defaults on this board since the likelihood of destroying your board is high if you put in the wrong voltage value or thermal values.
