There is a threaded insert on the Renegade board to use as a hold-down for the eMMC card. Has anyone found something that will work for this? It’s not as simple as getting the thread pitch right; I figured that out ages ago. There is usually, however, a type of screw/washer that is flanged and designed specifically for this (laptops use them often for some NVMe cards and a bigger version for SSDs) wherein the top of the screw has a flat relief which holds the bottom of the eMMC board, while the flange holds up the board itself so it keeps the right angle. This last part is important because, in case no one’s noticed, if you so much as breathe on the board, it will lose its connection just enough to fail to boot.
I’ve used the black 3M double-sided automotive tape trick to (mostly) good effect, but you only have one opportunity to get that right.
Alternatively, what specific type of connector is used for this? There’s probably a ribbon cable out there that matches it similar to how Apple Macs attach all their innards.
