Ubuntu 22.04.1 Jammy LTS for Libre Computer Boards

Thank you for the continuing support of these SoC’s. Using this release I had problems getting an IP address using the La Frite so I installed the Debian Buster headless image and it works really well. I can now turn off my 100 Watt NAS where I had servers and instead use my La Frite that uses only 1.6 Watts.

Out of curiousity, will there be a Debian Bullseye headless image? With the Debian Buster working well at the moment I am affraid of upgrading it.

Probably by the end of this month. Supporting Debian is not difficult but our priorities are getting lower level stuff right. Once that is done, adding support takes a day at most.

I had a similar issue. Boots up in 3840x2160 resolution. I attempted to change in the display properties settings to 1920x1080 in hopes of speeding it up a bit (issues with Chromium install but that’s likely a user error).
When I click to apply the changes it does a reboot (as it should) but when the log in prompt appears it’s very sluggish. Mouse takes several seconds to responds and keyboard input is the same.
Assuming i screwed up somewhere I just burned the img again but same results. This is after the system completed its initial update.

If the 3D Mali GPU gets fed textures over 1920 pixels long or wide, the driver crashes and cause the entire system to slow down. Best to change resolution to 1920x1080 or lower and reboot.

It seems cloud-init is rerunning on each reboot for me. At least my hostname is being reset to the hostname configured by cloud-init. Is this expected?

getting the following error since a couple of days after ssh login: client_loop: send disconnect: connection reset

That’s just the SSH session dying due to either TCP timeout from network disconnection or your ISP forcing timing of an connection. You can try increasing the rate of alive packets.

how to do this? The board was running fine for month, now this happens and only on the Libre boards. My other raspberry -also running Ubuntu- are fine

Check your dmesg for network events. Make sure something else isn’t crashing. Post your log here. Otherwise, for SSH timeout, Google “ssh server keep alive”.

Is this a log when the disconnect happens or just a random capture of the boot? Did you try the SSH timeout/keep-alive stuff?

You either need an UART console or an HDMI display with keyboard to login and see what happened. Without that, there’s nothing more that can be done.
